What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel is a quick, effective treatment for skin that has lost its spark. Chemical peels exfoliate and resurface the skin, by dissolving dead skin cells and allowing fresh skin to shine through. A chemical peel can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, sun damaged skin and scarring.
How does it work?
When it comes to skin, there is no one-size-fits-all. The most crucial step is to analyse your skin and choose a suitable chemical peel solution to address your specific skin concerns. We use a range of products to provide both superficial and deep chemical peels.
First, your skin will be cleaned and prepped. Then, we will apply a bespoke chemical peel solution to your skin. The great thing about chemical peels is that their intensity can be adjusted. The chemical peel solution is left on your skin for a few minutes before being neutralised. The treatment is completed by adding a protective layer of sunscreen. Within one week, you will see the results from your chemical peel and you are left with a softer, smoother and brighter looking skin.
When will I see results?
You may see results after one session; however, we recommend a course of 3-6 treatments for best results. Once your skin has been assessed, she will plan your bespoke treatment, focused on targeting your biggest skin concerns.
Can I see visible skin shedding?
This depends. If the chemical peel is performed at a superficial skin layer, you will experience very minimal/no visible peeling. However, with a deeper chemical peel, you may see your skin gently shedding for 4-5 days.
